Eve Gascon is back in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League after getting recalled by the Gatineau Olympiques on Thursday.

Gascon will join the team on Saturday and will be in the lineup as the Olympiques take on the visiting Val-d’Or Foreurs at the Slush Puppie Centre.

The 18-year-old goaltender impressed in the Olympiques' preseason camp. She played a total of 202 minutes for Gatineau with a 1.78 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage.

Gascon has since played for the CEGEP St-Laurent Patriotes, who sit atop the RSEQ division one, and holds a 7-5 record in 2021-22.

If Gascon gets the nod to go between the pipes for the Olympiques, she would become the third woman to play a regular-season game in the QMJHL.

Gascon would follow in the footsteps of NHL trailblazer Manon Rheaume with Trois-Rivieres and Olympic gold medallist Charline Labonte with the Acadie-Bathurst, both of whom also are goaltenders.
