For the second time in a week, Easton Cowan extended his historic point streak with an empty-net goal.
The London Knights forward buried the goal against the Kitchener Rangers Tuesday night to clinch a 3-1 win and extend his streak to 52 games.
The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect is now only three games back of the all-time OHL record of 55 games, held by Doug Gilmour.
The streak almost ended in Game 49 against the Guelph Storm but Cowan scored an empty-net goal in that game as well.
So far this season, Cowan has 14 goals and 22 points in 17 games. He won the OHL MVP award last season while leading the Knights to a championship.
The Maple Leafs selected Cowan in the first round, 28th overall, in 2023.
