OHL Roundup: Othmann scores twice as Firebirds skate to win over Sting

FLINT, Mich. — Brennan Othmann scored twice as the Flint Firebirds beat the Sarnia Sting 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Tuesday.

Zacharie Giroux and Tyler Deline, with the winning goal, also scored for Flint (41-20-5), which has won three straight and sits third in the Western Conference.

Alexis Daviault and Marko Sikic scored for Sarnia (26-35-5), which failed to take advantage of the Erie Otters' 4-1 loss to Guelph earlier Tuesday. The Sting are one point ahead of Erie for the conference's eighth and final playoff spot.

Luke Cavallin made 30 saves for Flint, while Benjamin Gaudreau stopped 37 shots for Sarnia.

Flint scored on its only power-play opportunity. Sarnia was 1-for-3.

STORM 4 OTTERS 1

ERIE, Pa. — Matthew Poitras had two goals and an assist as Guelph downed the Otters.

Braeden Bowman and Danny Zhilkin also scored for the Storm (34824-8).

Brett Bressette had the lone goal for Erie (26-36-4).
