ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. — Charles-Antoine Lavallee stopped all 24 shots he faced and seven different Cataractes skaters scored as Shawnigan crushed the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 7-0 for their eighth win straight Saturday in the QMJHL.
It was dominance from Shawnigan (25-9-3) from the get-go of the game as Pierrick Dube scored the game-winner less than two minutes into play.
From there, the Cataractes, who lead the Western Conference, just kept pouring it on, finding the back of the net once more in the first period, three times in the second and two more times in the third.
The Huskies (13-20-3) goalie combination of Cruz Loughlin and Simon Jasmin made 33 saves in defeat.

BAIE-COMEAU, QUE. — Donovan Arsenault scored a pair of third-period power-play goals and added an assist as Gatineau (21-9-6) handed Baie-Comeau (10-18-8) its fifth straight loss. The Drakkar briefly tied the game at 1-1 when Evgeny Sapelnikov scored 2:17 into the final frame.

BOISBRIAND, QUE. — Quebec City (26-11-1) jumped out to a 4-0 lead midway through the first period en route to a decisive victory over Blainville-Boisbriand (16-17-4). Theo Rochette led the Remparts in scoring with two goals and an assist.

VAL-D’OR, QUE. — Alexander Mirzabalaev put up two goals and three assists as Val-d’Or (14-17-4) trounced Cape Breton (10-23-5). The Foreuers also got a solid performance from Phillipe Cloutier, who stopped 33 shots for the win.

MONCTON, N.B. — Thomas Auger scored the lone shootout goal for Moncton (17-12-5) as they defeated Drummondville (15-13-8) in a wild affair that saw 10 goals scored between the two teams in regulation. Wildcats’ Jonas Taibel scored two goals and added a helper in the win.
