QMJHL Roundup: Cormier scores twice to lead Islanders to victory over Wildcats

MONCTON, N.B. — Lukas Cormier scored two power-play goals to lead the Charlottetown Islanders to a 4-0 victory over the Moncton Wildcats on Tuesday night.

Francesco Lapenna made 21 saves for the shutout. Sam Bowness and Patrick Guay had the other goals.

Elsewhere around the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, the Halifax Mooseheads dumped the Cape Breton Eagles 9-3 and the Saint John Sea Dogs edged the Sherbrooke Phoenix 3-2.

The Gatineau Olympiques beat the Val-d'Or Foreurs 7-6 in a shootout and the Quebec Remparts defeated the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 6-1.
