SYDNEY, N.S. — Thomas Casey and William Trudeau scored 25 seconds apart in the second period, and the Charlottetown Islanders held on to beat the Cape Breton Eagles 3-2 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play.
Colten Eliis stopped 21-of-23 shots to help Charlottetown earn its fourth straight win and 19th in its last 20 games.
Ben Boyd also scored in the second for the Islanders (34-5-0).
Emile Hegarty-Aubin and Liam Kidney found the back of the net for the Eagles (12-25-5), who have lost six straight and 9-of-10 overall.
Cape Breton goalie William Grimard turned aside 33-of-36 shots.
