DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. -- Mathieu Cataford scored twice in the second period and the Halifax Mooseheads snapped their five-game losing skid with a convincing 8-3 win over the Drummondville Voltigeurs in the QMJHL Sunday.
Jordan Dumais had a goal and three assists, and Zachary L'Heureux had a goal and two assists for the Mooseheads (26-23-1-1). Stephen Davis, Zack Jones, Elliot Desnoyers and Attilio Biasca scored the others for Halifax.
Mathis Rousseau stopped 27 pucks for the win.
Luke Woodworth, Jeremy Lapointe and Alexis Morin scored for the Voltigeurs (20-18-6-5), who are winless in three. Jacob Goobie (16 saves) and Riley Mercer (12 saves) split goaltending duties.
It was Halifax's first win since March 8.
In other games, the Acadie-Bathurst Titan downed the Cape Breton Eagles 5-2, the Charlottetown Islanders edged the Moncton Wildcats 5-3 and the Rimouski Oceanic made it back-to-back wins over the Gatineau Olympiques with a 3-1 result.
Elsewhere, the Baie-Comeau Drakkar rode a two-goal first period to a 3-1 win over the Val-d'Or Foreurs, the Quebec Remparts extended their win streak to three by defeating the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 5-2, and the Victoriaville Tigres won for just the second time in 15 games by topping the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 2-1 in a shootout.
