QMJHL Roundup: Phoenix cruise to series-opening win over Armada

Hugo Marcil had a goal and two assists as the Sherbrooke Phoenix earned a 5-1 win to take a 1-0 first-round series lead over the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada on Thursday in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League playoff action.

Alexis Doucet, Hugo Primeau, Charles-Antoine Beauregard and Thomas Rousseau also contributed to the offence for Sherbrooke. Linards Feldbergs made 30 saves.

Egor Goriunov had the lone goal for Blainville-Boisbriand, which got 16 stops from Félix Hamel.

Goriunov's goal at 11:01 of the second period knotted the score at 1-1. 

Primeau's response at 12:07, however, not only restored Sherbrooke's lead but also set off a run of four unanswered goals that flipped the script of the game.

Game 2 is set for Friday.
