OHL to require COVID-19 vaccines for anyone attending games in Ontario

The Ontario Hockey League announced Friday that anyone attending games in any of its 17 Ontario-based cities — including team personnel, arena employees and fans — will need to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 before entering the building.

The policy does not extend to the team’s three United States-based teams.

Last month the league announced that players, team staff and billet families would need to be vaccinated before training camp begins.

The WHL and QMJHL have announced similar policies for players, but the OHL is the first league to extend vaccine requirements to fans.

The OHL will return to action in October after being the only CHL league to not return to play last season.
