A huge charge by Maude-Aimee Leblanc paid off in a big way on Tuesday.
The Canadian golfer shot a 4-under 68 to book one of the final LPGA Tour cards for 2025 at LPGA Q-Series in Mobile, Ala.
Leblanc, from Sherbrooke, Que., finished at 6 under for the 90-hole event, good for a tie for 24th and one of the last three available spots on the big tour. The top 25 and ties (the final number was 26) earned cards, and the cutoff was Leblanc's score of 6 under.
Hamilton's Alena Sharp also picked up her card by finishing a stroke ahead of Leblanc at 7 under after a 2-over 74 in the final round, which was completed Tuesday after being suspended by rain on Monday.
Miya Yamashita of Japan won the event at 27 under.
Leblanc, 35, and Sharp, 43, will join Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont., and Savannah Grewal of Mississauga, Ont., on the LPGA Tour in 2025.
Sharp and Leblanc both finished outside the top 100 in the tour standings this season, sending them back to qualifying school.
Monet Chun of Richmond Hill, Ont., (even-par finish) and Maddie Szeryk of London, Ont., (2 over) finished outside the top 25 at Q-Series. They likely will have to play on the Epson Tour, the LPGA Tour's feeder circuit, for most of 2025.
