After another early exit in the post-season, Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette says the entire organization needs to look internally to find a solution in the future.
"We got beat up two years in a row in the playoffs, so I think there's a lot of reflection needed from players, but [also] from the organization from top down," the 25-year-old said post-game. "Everybody needs to reflect and see what we can do better, so I think that's the next step."
The Blue Jays lost Game 2 of their wild-card series to the Minnesota Twins 2-0, marking the second straight season that they've gone out in the first round of the playoffs without a win.
Despite holding the Twins offence to just five runs in the series and out-hitting the home side 15-12, Toronto just mustered a single run in the two-game sweep.
"We didn't score runs. Can't win without scoring a run," Bichette said.
"I didn't think it was poor execution or game planning on our part," he later continued. "Obviously, you can always be better. But they have great pitching over there and they were just better than us."
Bichette himself finished the series batting .500 after going 2-for-4 in both games with four singles and one run scored.
