The Toronto Blue Jays have activated reliever Ryan Borucki from the injured list, making him available for the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Cleveland Guardians.

Julian Merryweather was optioned to triple-A Buffalo to make room for Borucki.

The left-hander was placed on the 10-day IL with a middle finger blister on his pitching hand. It was his second stint on the IL this season. Borucki didn’t break camp with the Blue Jays after suffering a hamstring injury during spring training.

Merryweather has appeared in 12 games this season and has a 6.94 ERA with 12 strikeouts through 11.2 innings. He pitched two scoreless innings of relief in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.
