The Toronto Blue Jays activated reliever Adam Cimber from the paternity list ahead of Friday's series opener against the Texas Rangers.
Right-hander Thomas Hatch was optioned to triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.
Additionally, the Blue Jays recalled infielder Spencer Horwitz from triple-A and optioned outfielder Nathan Lukes.
This is the first MLB recall for the 25-year-old Horwitz, a 24th-round pick by the Blue Jays in 2019. In 57 games this season with Buffalo — primarily as a first baseman — the left-handed hitter is slashing .300/.421/.405 with 16 doubles and 34 RBI.
