The Toronto Blue Jays activated catcher Danny Jansen ahead of Tuesday's series opener against the Baltimore Orioles.
Jansen had been out of the lineup since late May with a groin strain. Catcher Tyler Heineman was optioned to triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.
In other Blue Jays news, left-handed slugger Brandon Belt was moved to the 10-day injured list with a hamstring strain. Belt suffered the injury running the bases in Saturday's loss to the Twins. Infielder Ernie Clement was recalled from triple-A Buffalo to take Belt's place on the bench.
Finally, sidearm reliever Adam Cimber was transferred to the paternity list and right-hander Bowden Francis was recalled to take his place in the bullpen.
The Blue Jays will send Chris Bassitt to the mound for the first of three games against their AL East rivals from Baltimore. First pitch is scheduled for just after 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT on Sportsnet ONE and SN NOW.
