Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah is not expecting to miss his next turn in the rotation despite sustaining a contusion on his right elbow.
Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reported Sunday that Manoah threw without issue and only "feels it if he presses the area but otherwise (it's) fine."
Manoah was hit by a comebacker from Jonathan Schoop during the sixth inning of Friday's game against the Detroit Tigers.
X-rays came back negative and Manoah said after the game "right now, it feels good" while interim manager John Schneider added Saturday that his all-star ace was feeling better.
Manoah leads the team with 11 wins, 126 innings pitched and a 2.43 ERA while his 114 strikeouts are second only to fellow starter Kevin Gausman.
The 24-year-old competed in his first MLB All-Star Game earlier this month and struck out three batters during a scoreless second inning.
The Blue Jays have Monday off before heading to Florida for a two-game set against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Manoah's next scheduled start is Thursday against the Minnesota Twins.
