Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios exited Friday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays due to a left knee contusion after being struck by a comebacker from third baseman Yandy Diaz.
Berrios was able to record the out on the play to finish the fifth inning.
Before being pulled, the right-hander pitched five innings, striking out six while allowing four hits and one earned run. He finished at 77 pitches thrown.
The Blue Jays are looking to snap the Rays' season-opening 13-game winning streak, which ties the modern MLB record.
