Three quarters of the Toronto Blue Jays' infield are leading the American League in All-Star Game voting for their positions.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, and Matt Chapman are currently the top vote-getters for first base, shortstop, and third base, respectively, for the game in Seattle next month.
Bichette is running away with the voting for shortstop, with a 398,562 gap on Corey Seagar of the Texas Rangers, while Guerrero has a 12,797 lead on Yandy Diaz of the Rays, and Chapman is ahead of the Rangers' Josh Jung by 4,486 votes.
Those three aren't the only members of the Blue Jays in contention to play at the mid-summer classic at T-Mobile Park on Tuesday, July 11. Alejandro Kirk is fourth in voting for catcher and Brandon Belt is second in voting for DH. In addition, all three Toronto outfielders are in the top 10 of current ballots cast: Kevin Kiermaier (5th), George Springer (7th), and Daulton Varsho (10th).
Even Whit Merrifield is sitting in third for the nomination at second base, despite making only 33 starts at the position. The utilityman has made 48 starts while covering all three outfield positions.
The full breakdown of Phase 1 of All-Star Game voting can be found here. Atlanta's Ronald Acuña Jr. (1,086,537) and Shohei Ohtani (924,182) of the Angels lead the NL and AL, respectively, with the most votes.
