Fans can breathe a sigh of relief ahead of the Toronto Blue Jays' home opener on Monday, as star shortstop Bo Bichette is in the starting lineup against the Seattle Mariners.
The 26-year-old's status was unclear after he was hit on the elbow by a fastball in the sixth inning of Sunday's series finale against the New York Yankees. He remained in the game, but told reporters afterwards that he wasn't sure what the impact would be.
Bichette, much like the rest of the Blue Jays, has struggled offensively through the first 10 games with six hits and three RBIs in 31 at-bats, for a .194 batting average.
Hoping to breathe some offensive life into the team, Davis Schneider also returns to the lineup for the Blue Jays after he was held out of the lineup for the past three games.
Schneider, 25, has two home runs in 15 at-bats, including a game-winning homer in Game 2 against the Houston Astros. He's batting .250 in seven games.
