Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jordan Romano has right elbow inflammation and the MRI showed no structural damage, manager John Schneider told reporters on Tuesday.
Schneider added that reliever Erik Swanson has right forearm tightness and that an MRI showed no injury or inflammation.
Romano is getting an anti-inflammatory injection and will be sidelined for three days. Swanson will tone down his workouts for the next few days.
The Blue Jays open their season on March 28 in Tampa in a four-game set against the Rays.
