Alek Manoah has been recalled by the Toronto Blue Jays from double-A New Hampshire for Friday's game against the Detroit Tigers.
The Jays also placed RHP Jay Jackson on the paternity list, making room on the roster for Manaoh.
The club's opening-day starter, Manoah had a horrible start to the 2023 season before the club shipped him down to the Florida Complex League early last month. After a promising outing for double-A New Hampshire on Sunday (one run in five innings, 10 strikeouts), Manoah will get a chance to show the progress he has made.
Manoah makes his return against one of the worst offensive teams in baseball.
This will mark Manoah's first start for Toronto since the June 5 disaster when he recorded just one out and gave up six runs against the Houston Astros.
Watch the Blue Jays face the Tigers live on Sportsnet and SN NOW starting at 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT.
