Toronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen was pulled from Wednesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays in the bottom of the fifth inning due to left groin tightness, per the team.
Jansen grounded out in his last at-bat and sprinted to first before leaving the game in the bottom half of the inning.
Alejandro Kirk took over behind the plate for Jansen.
Jansen is slashing .207/.273/.413 with six home runs and 26 RBIs this season.
According to Sportsnet's Shi Davidi, catcher Tyler Heineman was removed from the triple-A Buffalo Bisons' game Wednesday midway through the contest.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters after the game that Jansen will be evaluated overnight and the team is "taking it literally minute-by-minute right now."
