Toronto Blue Jays reliever Chad Green was sharp in his first rehab outing with triple-A Buffalo on Sunday afternoon.
The 32-year-old righty worked one inning against Rochester, Washington's triple-A affiliate, allowing one hit, no runs and no walks while picking up a strikeout.
Green threw nine pitches — eight of them for strikes — in the fourth inning, working around a leadoff double. He threw five fastballs and four sliders, topping out at 94.5 m.p.h. and averaging 93.9 with his heater.
He has been on the injured list since April 20 with a right teres major strain. He began the season with a 2.35 ERA and two saves through seven appearances for the Blue Jays before being shut down with the injury.
