A familiar face is officially back in the fold for the Toronto Blue Jays.
The team announced a two-year, $15 million deal with reliever Yimi Garcia on Friday, while designating catcher Nick Raposo for assignment to clear space on the 40-man roster.
Garcia, 34, first signed with the Blue Jays ahead of the 2022 campaign.
The native of the Dominican Republic spent the next two and a half seasons with Toronto before a deadline deal sent him to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for outfielder Jonatan Clase and catcher Jacob Sharp in August.
In 39 appearances between the two clubs last season, Garcia carried a 3.46 ERA while striking out 49 opponents in 39 innings. He helped fill in when Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano went down with injury, notching five saves.
Garcia has also spent time with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins and Houston Astros across 10 MLB seasons.
Raposo, 26, was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays from the St. Louis Cardinals in August.
The catcher, who has yet to make his MLB debut, played 78 games across the minors last season and hit eight home runs while slashing .206/.280/.340.
