Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer was lifted from Sunday’s 7-2 win over the Atlanta Braves in the sixth inning due to leg fatigue.
Manager Charlie Montoyo insisted after the game that Springer did not aggravate a previous injury, and the team was being cautious with its star player.
Springer was playing in just his fourth game with his new club after recovering from separate oblique and quadriceps issues to begin the season. He has served as the designated hitter in each of his appearances.
The three-time all-star signed a six-year, $160-million contract with the club in the off-season.
