Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will not miss a game after exiting early last time out with left middle finger discomfort
Guerrero Jr. is in the starting lineup at first and will bat fourth in Tuesday's series opener against the Baltimore Orioles.
Guerrero Jr. appeared to injure himself in the fourth inning on a swing and miss while at the plate on Sunday against the Cincinnati Reds. The first baseman swung so hard, he let go of his bat and it hit the backstop.
Afterwards, Guerrero Jr. appeared to be favouring his left hand, but after a quick conversation with the trainer he stayed in the at-bat. He would eventually walk and then come home to score on a George Springer home run.
When the Blue Jays came out on defence in the fifth inning, Guerrero Jr. had been replaced at first base by Cavan Biggio.
The 24-year-old superstar has 18 home runs and 72 RBI for the Blue Jays this season.
