Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has minor inflammation in his right knee, according to manager John Schneider.
Guerrero Jr. had an MRI Friday night which revealed no structural concerns in his knee.
Guerrero Jr. pulled up to second base awkwardly in Friday afternoon's game against the Tampa Bay Rays after registering a hit in the seventh inning and was removed from the game.
Guerrero Jr. is scheduled to leave the Blue Jays for the Dominican Republic’s World Baseball Classic team following Sunday’s game. Schneider says the team is still deciding what the latest injury means for Guerrero Jr's participation in the tournament.
