Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Kevin Kiermaier won't be in the lineup when the Toronto Blue Jays take on the New York Yankees on Thursday.
After an MRI earlier in the week, first baseman Guerrero has been considered day-to-day with right knee discomfort and is expected to return to the field this week.
Centre fielder Kiermaier is sidelined with an illness.
Manager John Schneider said the MRI did not uncover structural damage in Guerrero's knee. Ahead of Thursday's game, Schneider told media that Guerrero is feeling better and although he's not in the lineup, he could be available to pinch hit against the Yankees.
Guerrero was lifted from Tuesday's loss to start the ninth after appearing to injure himself fielding a ball near first base.
Guerrero is hitting .312/.385/.516 with seven home runs this season.
