Blue Jays' Jordan Romano named American League reliever of the month

Toronto Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano has been named the American League's Reliever of the Month.

Romano led the American League in saves with 10 through the Blue Jays' 14 wins in April. He recorded a 1.59 ERA while striking out 13 batters and held hitters to a .195 batting average. Since May 2021, Romano has made 34 saves in 35 opportunities and earned four Reliever of the Month Awards.

Milwaukee's Josh Hader was named the NL's Reliever of the Month after recording 10 saves, 15 strikeouts and has not allowed a run through 9 1/3 innings this season.

Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez and St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado were named AL and NL Players of the Month, respectively.
