Toronto Blue Jays centre fielder Kevin Kiermaier is considered day-to-day after receiving eight stitches for a cut sustained to his elbow in Sunday's 13-1 win over the Boston Red Sox, manager John Schneider announced.
Kiermaier cut his elbow in the bottom of the sixth inning while making a leaping catch at the caged portion of the centre-field wall. He exited the game immediately after the play.
Kiermaier is slashing .271/.333/.414 with five home runs and 25 RBI in 94 appearances during the 2023 season.
The Blue Jays completed the sweep of the Red Sox in dominating fashion, and the team now heads to Cleveland to take on the Guardians in a four-game set.
