Max Scherzer's thumb injury doesn't look like it will complicate the start of his season.
Following a strong spring training start from the right-handed pitcher on Saturday, John Schneider said Scherzer checked in and is feeling good with his thumb, according to Sportsnet's Shi Davidi.
Scherzer had been managing a thumb injury during spring training, but after going scoreless over two innings and only giving up two hits in Toronto's 2-1 defeat of the Minnesota Twins, things are looking up for the 40-year-old.
This will be Scherzer's first season with the Blue Jays after the veteran pitcher signed a $15.5-million, one-year deal during the off-season.
