The Toronto Blue Jays continued to make roster cuts on Tuesday, announcing that right-handed pitcher Yosver Zulueta and infielders Addison Barger and Orelvis Martinez had been optioned to triple-A Buffalo.
Additionally, outfielder Steward Berroa was reassigned to minor league camp.
Martinez, 22, is Toronto's No. 2 ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline. He split last season between triple-A and double-A when he hit .243/.340/.496 with 28 home runs and 94 RBIs in 125 games. He split time at third base and shortstop last season.
Barger, 24, is Toronto's No. 6 prospect on MLB Pipeline. The 24-year-old utility player hit .250/.353/.403 with nine home runs and 46 RBI in 88 triple-A games last season.
Zulueta, 26, made seven starts in triple-A last season but most served as a reliever. He posted a 4.08 ERA with 73 strikeouts in 64 innings in 2023. He is Toronto's No. 17 prospect according to MLB Pipeline.
Berroa, 24, is not among Toronto's top 30 prospects. He split last season between double-A and triple-A, hitting .258/.368/.390 with seven home runs and 47 stolen bases.
