Toronto Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker pled guilty to a reduced charge of reckless driving in a Florida court Tuesday, according to documents posted by the Pinellas County courthouse.

Walker's plea was filed on his behalf by his attorney Kaitlyn Statile. He was fined and sentenced to 40 hours of community service along with six months probation by judge Theodora Komninos.

Walker was arrested for driving under the influence in the early hours of March 25 in Oldsmar, Fla., near the Blue Jays' spring training facility in Dunedin, Fla. Walker initially pled not guilty to that charge. He was released on a $500 bail.

“There was a traffic incident on Thursday night that I was involved in. Obviously, I'm very apologetic to the Blue Jay organization, Blue Jays fans, and my family,” Walker told reporters two days after his arrest. “It’s something that I'm working through with my attorney to get a resolution to right now. Obviously, my apologies to my three daughters as well. Right now we're working through it with my attorney for a resolution in this. And that's the only comment I'll have right now.”

Walker, 53, joined the Blue Jays in 2011 as a bullpen coach and was promoted to pitching coach ahead of the 2013 season.
