Biggio sat out Toronto’s loss against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday and had recently been limited to the DH role due to his neck issues.
The Blue Jays also announced that they have reinstated infielder Joe Panik, who had a stint on the IL with a calf strain.
Pitchers Anthony Kay and Jeremy Beasley were optioned to triple-A Buffalo and right-hander Ty Tice was called up. Tice will be available to pitch in Saturday’s game against the Rays.
Toronto will also have right-hander Anthony Castro back for Saturday’s matchup, as he’s been reinstated from the injured list after suffering from a strain in his right forearm.
First pitch between Toronto and Tampa Bay is scheduled for 7:37 p.m. ET on SN One.
