The Toronto Blue Jays have placed left-handed pitcher Génesis Cabrera on the paternity list, the team announced Thursday.
Toronto also selected right-handed pitcher Tommy Nance to the major league roster. Nance will be active for Thursday's series finale against the Baltimore Orioles.
The Blue Jays acquired Nance from the San Diego Padres on Aug. 7 for cash considerations.
Nance has appeared in 26 games with triple-A El Paso this season and has a 2-2 record, 4.05 ERA and 35 strikeouts.
The 33-year-old from Long Beach, Calif., has played in 62 MLB games with the Chicago Cubs (2021) and Miami Marlins (2022) and holds a career 3-4 record, 5.47 ERA and 87 strikeouts.
Cabrera, 27, has a 3-2 record, 3.50 ERA and 37 strikeouts plus two saves over 50 relief appearances with the Blue Jays this season.
