A hip injury to pitcher Tayler Saucedo has prompted to the Toronto Blue Jays to place the left-handed hurler on the 10-day injured list, prompting the club to call up righty Bowden Francis from Triple-A Buffalo.

Saucedo, who has a career ERA of 5.40 and WHIP of 1.38, had posted numbers of 13.50 and 2.63 in 2.2 innings over five appearances this season.

In other news, pitcher Hyun Jin Ryu and outfielder Teoscar Hernandez both continued to make progress in their returns from injury.
