The Toronto Blue Jays are down another starting pitcher.
Right-hander Jameson Taillon has been placed on the 15-day injured list with right forearm tendinitis.
Right-handed reliever Chase Lee was recalled from triple-A to take Taillon's roster spot for Tuesday's game against the Boston Red Sox.
Taillon left Monday's series opener against the Red Sox after just four innings with a forearm injury. He gave up one hit, struck out three and walked three while throwing 34 of his 61 pitches for strikes in his second start as a Blue Jay after a trade from the Chicago Cubs.
Taillon is the latest Blue Jays starter to suffer an injury, joining Trey Yesavage (meniscus surgery), Spencer Arrighetti (Morton's neuroma), Patrick Corbin (Left teres major strain), Cody Ponce (ACL surgery) and Jose Berrios (Tommy John surgery).
Meanwhile, the Blue Jays initially announced that Kazuma Okamoto would return to the lineup but then made him a late scratch due to a left knee contusion. Okamoto was also a late scratch from Monday's lineup with the same injury, which is believed to have occurred when he fouled a ball off his knee on Sunday in Philadelphia. Rookie Charles McAdoo will return to third base after initially being slotted in left field.
Dylan Cease (7-5, 2.28 ERA) will get the start for the Blue Jays as they look to hand the Red Sox a fourth straight loss while clinching at least a series split.
