The Toronto Blue Jays put relief pitcher Tim Mayza on the 10-day injured list Saturday due to inflammation in his left elbow.

Toronto also optioned pitcher Ryan Borucki to triple-A Buffalo and recalled pitchers Patrick Murphy and Kirby Snead. Both Murphy and Snead will be available for Saturday's doubleheader against the Boston Red Sox.

In addition, the Blue Jays appointed right-handed pitcher Trent Thornton as the 27th man for both games.

The 29-year-old Mayza has a 2-1 record with a 3.75 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 44 appearances this season.
