Have yourself a day, Orelvis Martinez.
The 21-year-old shortstop/third baseman singled, doubled and hit a three-run homer for the Toronto Blue Jays' triple-A affiliate, the Buffalo Bisons, en route to a 14-2 victory.
Martinez proved why he is ranked number two amongst Blue Jays' prospects, with three hits in three at-bats for five RBI, just one day after being held hitless against Syracuse.
Martinez has split the 2023 season between double-A New Hampshire and Buffalo, getting the promotion to triple-A after hitting 17 home runs and 46 RBI in 70 games at the lower level.
Through 28 games with the Bisons this season, the Santo Domingo native has six home runs and 25 RBI, slashing .272/.342/.545.
Both Martinez and No. 1 prospect Ricky Tiedemann are expected to make their major league debut in 2024.
