Beware of Orelvis Martinez.
Martinez, Toronto's No. 2-ranked prospect according to MLB Pipeline, hit a go-ahead ninth-inning home run on Thursday to help the triple-A Buffalo Bisons to an 8-7 win over the Columbus Clippers.
It was Martinez's second hit of the game as he extended his hit streak to 12 games and stayed red hot.
In 15 games with Buffalo this season, Martinez, 22, is slashing .305/.359/.576 with three home runs and 11 RBIs.
One of his three home runs was a 469-foot grand slam on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old split last season between triple-A and double-A when he hit .243/.340/.496 with 28 home runs and 94 RBIs in 125 games. He split time at third base and shortstop last season.
The Bisons are off to a 10-7 start this season. Alek Manoah is scheduled to start Friday's game against Columbus.
