  • Blue Jays' Springer exits game vs. White Sox with hand contusion, X-rays negative

The Toronto Blue Jays pulled outfielder George Springer from Wednesday's game against the Chicago White Sox with a right-hand contusion after he was hit by a pitch.

Springer had precautionary X-rays which came back negative.

In the third inning, Springer was hit on the hand by a pitch from White Sox starter Michael Kopech. He would later score after a double by Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

The Blue Jays replaced Springer with Cavan Biggio who took over in right field.

In 25 games, Springer is slashing .216/.283/.320 with three home runs and nine RBIs.
