The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled right-handed reliever Carl Edwards Jr. and designated fellow righty Ty Tice for assignment.

In four games with the triple-A Buffalo Bisons, Edwards has not allowed a run, has three strikeouts and no walks over four innings. In 200 career appearances with the Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners and Braves, he has recorded a 3.68 ERA with 243 strikeouts in 181.0 innings.

Tice has appeared in four games for the Blue Jays this season posting a 5.14 ERA in seven innings while striking out seven batters.
