The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled reliever Zach Pop ahead of Monday's doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles.
George Springer also returns to the lineup after getting the day off in Sunday's series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Pop was optioned to triple-A Buffalo to make room for Tim Mayza's return from the injured list. The Brampton, Ont., native was acquired from the Miami Marlins at the trade deadline and has a 2.70 ERA in 6.2 innings for Toronto.
Springer has been dealing with elbow and knee injuries this season but has been an integral part of the lineup slashing .265/.342/.465 with 19 home runs, 57 RBI and 12 stolen bases.
The Blue Jays open a critical series with the Orioles Monday afternoon in the first game of a doubleheader. You can watch the first game on Sportsnet and SN NOW at 1:05 p.m. ET with the second game to follow.
