Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been scratched from Sunday's split-squad game against the Orioles with a knee contusion.
Manager John Schneider, who described the move as precautionary, believes his first baseman suffered the injury while making a sliding play in foul territory in Saturday's game against the Phillies, according to Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling.
The 24-year-old Dominican has not been sent for imaging.
This is the second time this spring the Blue Jays have given Guerrero time off because of injury concerns. Last week he sat out after jamming the middle finger on his left hand on Tuesday against the Pirates.
