The 23-year-old will join teammates Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Marcus Semien and Teoscar Hernandez at the festivities in Denver after the three Blue Jays were named to the American League starting roster.
The Blue Jays will have four All-Star position players for the first time since 1993.
This will mark Bichette’s first All-Star Game. The 23-year-old is slashing .290/.340/.819 so far this season with 15 home runs and 54 RBIs.
Bichette and Carlos Correa of the Houston Astros are the two shortstops joining the AL All-Star reserves.
Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani was named as an AL All-Star Pitcher, marking the first time a player has been named an All-Star as a position player and a pitcher. Ohtani was previously voted in as the starting designated hitter for the American League starting roster.
