The Toronto Blue Jays have locked up their first-round pick.
Toronto gave shortstop JoJo Parker a $6.2-million bonus on Friday, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi confirmed. The eighth-overall selection in this year's draft had a $6,813,600 slot value.
MLB.com's Jim Callis was first to report the deal.
By coming in on an under-slot deal with Parker, the Blue Jays can spread some of their bonus pool around to their other draft picks.
Parker was MLB Pipeline's ninth-overall ranked prospect in the 2025 draft class out of Purvis High School in Mississippi.
The left-handed hitter is said to come with one of the best hit tools in the draft and won the Gatorade Mississippi Baseball Player of the Year Award in his senior season.
By signing with the Blue Jays, Parker will officially join the pro ranks and forego his commitment to Mississippi State.
Toronto has already officially agreed to terms with fourth-rounder Micah Bucknam, eighth-rounder Danny Thompson Jr. and 10th-rounder Austin Smith.
