Right fielder George Springer is not in the starting lineup for the Toronto Blue Jays for the second straight day while he recovers from a sore left ankle.
Manager John Schneider said Springer is available off the bench and is being considered day-to-day for now.
Schneider added that Springer injured his ankle during Wednesday's loss to the Phillies.
Cavan Biggio is starting in right field Saturday against the Reds.
Springer has seen his offensive numbers dip this season, hitting .257/.324/.391 with 14 home runs in 117 games.
