Catcher Danny Jansen missed the Toronto Blue Jays' second game against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday due to right wrist inflammation.
While originally slotted in to play, the club switched Jansen out of the lineup for Alejandro Kirk.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said afterward Jansen is day to day. He was hurt when he was hit by a pitch by Shintaro Fujinami of the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday.
“We wanted to be careful with him. He's kind of day to day, but we expect him to be fine," Schneider said.
Jansen is tied for third on the team with 15 homers this season.
