Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Luis De Los Santos made his first MLB start Sunday against the New York Yankees.
De Los Santos, who batted ninth in the order, finished 0-for-3 at the plate with one walk as the Blue Jays fell 4-3 in 11 innings.
The 26-year-old De Los Santos has a .243/.393/.400 slash line in 28 games with triple-A Buffalo this season.
The Dominican player made his debut with the Jays on July 31, coming on to bat in the eighth inning of a 10-4 loss to the Orioles in Baltimore.
The Blue Jays continue to forge ahead with their youth movement, with recently acquired Joey Loperfido getting another start in left field, Spencer Horwitz at first, and Addison Barger in right field.
