Blue Jays to start spring training schedule on Feb. 25 against Pirates

The Toronto Blue Jays announced their spring training schedule for the 2023 season which includes 32 games against nine different teams.

Toronto will open its spring training on Feb. 25 on the road against the Pittsburgh Pirates and play their first home game at TD Ballpark on Feb. 26 against the New York Yankees.

As part of the Blue Jays' schedule, they will face each AL East team next spring, with four games against both the Yankees and Baltimore Orioles, and two games each against the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox.

On Feb. 28, the Blue Jays will play against the Philadelphia Phillies, the first of eight games between the cross-town rivals. They will also take on the Atlanta Braves (two games), Minnesota Twins (two games), and Detroit Tigers (four games).

Returning to spring training in 2023 are split-squad games, with the Blue Jays playing against the Tigers and Phillies on Feb. 28 and two games against the Phillies on March 17.
