The Toronto Blue Jays traded left-handed pitcher Ryan Borucki to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for minor league infielder Tyler Keenan, the team announced Saturday.
Borucki made his major league debut with the Blue Jays in 2018 and holds an 8-9 record and 4.47 ERA over the past five seasons.
The 28-year-old from Mundelein, Ill., has struggled this year with a 9.95 ERA through 11 relief appearances and was designated for assignment earlier this week.
Keenan, who plays first and third base, was selected by the Mariners in the fourth round of the 2020 First-Year Player Draft from the University of Mississippi.
The 23-year-old from Portsmouth, Va., hit .250 with three home runs and 14 RBI in 25 games with the high-A Everett AquaSox this season.
